In Love Face Pillow - Free Pillow Crochet Pattern

 

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and I want to focus on helping you create beautiful handmade gifts for your special someone! Today we will be creating the Crochet In Love Face Pillow made with the softest yarn where all you want to do is cuddle with it. This can be a perfect Valentine's Day gift or a great creation to sell at your next craft fair. 

 

Are you ready to create this fun pattern, cuz I am! This is considered a beginner level pattern and should take around 1 hour to create which is great if you want to create a bunch.

Notes:

1. For this pattern, make sure to work in continuous rounds which will result in no visible seams. Do not slip stitch after each round. 
2. The specific yarn used for this In Love Face Pillow was the Sweet Snuggles Yarn
   
3. The hearts are the Glittery Foam Table Scatter Hearts

Materials:

Yarn Weight: 7-jumbo

Crochet hook 10mm

Tapestry needle

Felt Hearts

Hot Glue

Abbreviations:

R= round

MR=magic ring

Sc= single crochet

St= stitch

BLO= back loop only

Sc2tog= single crochet 2 together

F/o= fasten off  

*6= repeat that part of the round 6 times

 

Pillow

Here we are beginning from the center of the pillow

R1) Work 6sc into a magic circle [6]

 

In R2-R8 you will be working on increases

R2) 2sc in each st, *6 [12]

R3) 1sc then 2sc in next st, *6 [18]

R4) 1sc in next 2st then 2sc in next st, *6 [24]

R5) 1sc in next 3st then 2sc in next st, *6 [30]

R6) 1sc in next 4st then 2sc in next st, *6 [36]

R7) 1sc in each st [36]

In R8 you will be working on BLO

R8) 1sc in each st BLO [36]

 

In R9-R12 you will be working on decreases 

R9) 1sc in next 4st then 2tog, *6 [30]

R10) 1sc in next 3st then 2tog, *6 [24]

R11) 1sc in next 2st then 2tog, *6 [18]

R12) 1sc in next 1st then 2tog, *6 [12]

 

At this point start stuffing and shaping the body with the stuffing

R13) 2tog in the remaining st, *6 [6]

Next you are going to f/o, leaving an approximate 3 inch tail which you will use to weave in & out of the remaining stitches, pulling tightly to close the small gap. Then you will knot off and hide the tail inside the body.

 

Face Design

 

For the felt eyes, you can either hot glue them or stitch them on between rows 3 & 4. For the smile, the black yarn was placed in between rows 4 & 5 on the left side. At this points congrats on creating your own In Love Face Pillow!
