DIY Beginner Holiday Macrame Ornament

 

The holiday season is finally here and am so excited to share with you a very easy macrame holiday ornament! These ornaments bring a lot of beautiful detail to any Christmas tree and what's makes it even more special is that you 




Materials:

Macrame cord

Wooden Ring

Comb or Brush

Scissors 

Wooden bead (optional)

Mini bell (optional)



Macrame Tree Ornament 


1. Cut 20 pieces of cord measuring 9 inches each. You will also need 1 piece of cord (or jute cord) which will measure 10 inches will be used to hang on the tree.


2. After cutting up all of the pieces, grab one of the 9 inches cord and create a larks head knot* onto the wooden ring

*The larks head knot consists of folding the cord in half, putting the loop through the center of the wooden ring, and pull the ends of the cord through the loop


3. Use the remaining 19 cords and repeat step 2 until your wooden ring is covered with the cords


4. Next, you will need to brush out the cord in order to create that lovely texture that surrounds the wooden ring


5. Trim the fringed cord to the length of your liking, in the photo it is roughly one inch.


6. Now you can either use the 10 inch cord or twine which will be used to hang out macrame ornament.


7. Optional: at. this point of the process you have the option to either add beads, bells, or any other items that will give your 





At this point in your macrame holiday ornament creating journey I want to say... CONGRATS! You just made your own beautiful ornament!
